Q. What if I do not pass the playing ability portion of the course? Can I still gain certification?

A. 1. Provided you have passed the written and teaching aspects of the course and you are within 4 strokes of the target score you may within a 12 month period, submit 4 attested score cards with the appropriate target score or less on any championship course (6,000+ yards). These cards must be signed by three individuals along with their scores on the same card (4 signatures). The fee for this is $35. Prior to sending the cards in, you will be an associate member. Associate status is not achieved if P.A.T. score exceeds 14 strokes over target score.

A. 2. If your playing ability test score is more than 4 strokes over the target score, then you must return to any certification site and simply redo the two-day PAT. The fee for this is $250, which includes green and cart fees both days and also the Saturday banquet dinner.

Q. What if I do not pass the verbal teaching test?

A. Provided you have passed the Playing Ability Test, you must return to any certification course and redo the entire course excluding the P.A.T.

Q. What if I do not pass the written rules test?

A. This may be redone on a person-to-person verbal basis with any CGTF examiner. The fee for this is $75.

Q. Do you have a Senior Division?

A. Yes, we do and we are very proud of the many members over the age 50 that are actively teaching and promoting the game.
