The Canadian Golf Teachers Federation was founded and incorporated in 1992. It is a member of the World Golf Teachers Federation, the largest organization of golf teaching professionals in the world. The CGTF main office is located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The aim of the CGTF is to train and certify well qualified teaching professionals to serve the Canadian golfing public.
MISSION STATEMENT
The amateur division of the CGTF is the National Golf Teachers Federation. The members in this division retain their amateur status by not accepting monetary compensation for lessons or tournament play. People who wish to become members of the CGTF must pass one of the 7-day certification courses that are held at various location across Canada each year. Upon becoming a member, each person receives the latest information on ongoing education and membership news via Golf Teaching Pro Magazine, our official membership publication.
In addition to the administrative committees, there are several special interest committees to assist in the operation of the CGTF.
